Pablo Sanchis

  • Pablo Sanchis received the MSc degree in Telecommunications Engineering and the PhD degree in Photonics from the Universitat Politecnica de Valencia (UPVLC), Spain, in 2001 and 2005, respectively. Since 2016, he is Full-Professor of the Department of Communications at UPVLC. His research career has been developed at the Nanophotonics Technology Center where since 2007 he also leads a research group. His research interests are basically related with the design, fabrication and characterization of photonic integrated circuits, especially in the field of silicon photonics. In the last years, he has been focused on the development of optoelectronic devices, mainly electro-optical modulators, by means of innovative approaches. The integration of disruptive materials with silicon photonics to enhance electro-optical functionalities has also become a key research activity. He has a proven-track-record in research projects at regional, national and European level in which he has been involved with a growing responsibility and leadership. He has been almost continuously participating in European projects (FP5-OBANET, FP6-PHOLOGIC, FP6-ePIXnet, FP7-HELIOS) and he is has been the coordinator of FP7-SITOGA project. He has authored more than 60 papers in peer-reviewed international journals and more than 110 papers in international conferences and he holds several patents. His H-index is currently 23 according to Google Scholar.
